Special Session

LIFE ON THE ROCK

Monday, October 5 • 10:00–11:30 am

Once the most infamous prison in the world, Alcatraz today is a tourist attraction across the bay from San Francisco. Guests of NECA get the exclusive chance to hear four intriguing perspectives from men and women who lived on “The Rock”. One was a guard, another grew up on the island as a child of a guard, and one was once a prisoner. They call themselves “Alcatraz alumni,” and they will explain life at a place no one ever forgot.

Then hear a unique perspective from Alcatraz historian John Martini. Martini is a renowned authority on Alcatraz Island and has been researching “The Rock” for more than 35 years. He is also the author of two popular books about the island, Fortress Alcatraz  and Alcatraz At War , and has appeared in numerous documentaries about the island.
